Day 359
Sittingbourne to Faversham
Andrew Denyer and his parents met me at the hotel this morning and Andrew walked with me along the coast. The first couple of miles was through an industrial area and we had to find the path through a run-down yard were the signposts had been removed (by the owner I think). We asked the owner over the loud barking of her guard dogs where the path was and she directed us round an obstructing pile of debris and a broken fence! We were then able to continue along the Saxon Shore Way. The weather became hot with a breeze and we found ourselves walking along the bank of the River Swale. We stopped for a drink at a nice pub in 'Conyer' before continuing along the lovely path to Faversham. Andrew's parents collected us in the car and took us up to the hotel where I was staying. They very kindly treated me to drinks and dinner sitting outside.
